You may be alarmed that some thieves has ransacked your homes for reasons that home keys have been misplaced. The best thing you could do to prevent such situation is to purchase a lockbox just to secure all valuable keys you have.

I realized how useful a lockbox is when I saw on the news that one of my neighbors got robbed last night. Apparently, someone picked their lock to gain entry to their house. A good thing, though, that no one was home. The whole family regularly goes out to dinner every Saturday night. What is funny is, they have a sophisticated alarm system installed just two weeks ago. But that still did not do the job of securing their home. The robbers just cut the wires of the alarm system not giving it a chance to send a signal to security.

Later on I found out that a lot of their things were stolen. Most of Debra's jewelry was taken. The ones left were not worth much. The TV and sound system were stolen too. The robbers mostly took what they could carry but judging from the loot taken there must have been more than people who did the act. Even the kids rooms were not spared. The kids video games were stolen as well as some expensive toys. I suspect that the people responsible for this hideous act know the family and know their routine. How else would they know when exactly to rob the house and which valuables to take? And they do not have even on lockbox.

The minute I heard the news I looked around my home. I wanted to make sure if the kids responsibly closed all windows and doors like their supposed to. My husband and I double check them once their asleep just to be safe but still we warn the kids about safety in the house so they will pick after themselves in case my husband and I are not around. I heaved a sigh of relief. Yet the issue is not about that. The robbers chose a night when no one is around. They are not likely to rob a house if there are people then.

Well, our door locks are not the kind you can pick. And our keys are neatly set in a lockbox. In fact, we have more than one lockboxes so separate set of keys can be hidden too. It was my husbands idea to buy different kinds. So we have the 2 dial combination lockboxes, a key lockbox and a pushbutton lockbox. And with the extra care we hide them on different places inside, out and around our house.

I will never regret buying our lockboxes. With what happened to our neighbors I am more grateful that my husband insisted we buy them. I used to argue about it with him questioning their importance and the kids helped convince me. I am glad that with regard to this my husband is more stubborn that I am. Even one single lockbox can save a family from losing their possessions.
